I followed the bachelor Pharmacy and the master Science & Business management, both at the Utrecht University. After my bachelor I worked in a pharmacy. I discovered that the master Pharmacy wasn't really my thing. That's why I completed a different master.
During this two-year master, I completed two internships of 9 months: a research internship at the UMC in Utrecht and a business internships at Abbott. I followed a variety of courses in biotechnology, because I had always found it an interesting subject.
During my studies, I completed the bachelor Molecular & Cellular Life Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. It was a broad programme in which I gained knowledge about the chemical, process and life science fields. During my bachelor, I did a pre-master at the Radboud University in Medical Sciences.
After my pre-master and bachelor, I wanted to broaden my knowledge of the biotechnological sector. Therefore, I completed the master Biotechnology at the Wageningen University. There, I focused on both the medical and molecular & cellular directions and broadened my knowledge of genetics and process techniques.
After completing my studies in Life Sciences, I joined Hitma in December 2013 in the inside sales department of the single-use department. In 2015, I started working as an account manager/product specialist. This involved me visiting (bio)pharmaceutical companies in the Netherlands to look together for a suitable single-use solution.
I think the future has much to offer us, where plug and play single-use assemblies have become the norm for use in a pharmaceutical production process.
